DNREC uses the latest in Internet technology for increased security to ensure high protection against unauthorized access to the data you exchange across the Internet. The information that is transmitted across the Internet is encrypted for security reasons. Information is scrambled by the means of encryption for transmission between the user's PC and our system. Information that is encrypted at one end is decrypted (unscrambled) upon receipt at the other end. The number of "bits" describes the level of encryption, and the greater the number of "bits" the stronger the encryption. DNREC uses 128-bit encryption, the highest level of encryption publicly available.

Why 128-bit encryption?

128-bit encryption is the most secure form of encryption generally available for Internet browsers in the market. If your browser does not support 128-bit encryption, you will need to download and install the latest versions of either of the following browsers:

  • Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE),
  • Netscape Communicator or
  • Netscape Navigator.

How to check your browser for 128-bit encryption?

If your browser is Microsoft Internet Explorer:

1. Select "Help" from the browser menu.
2. Click "About Internet Explorer" from the help menu.
3. In the "About Internet Explorer" pop up window look for "Cipher Strength" information. Check if it says 128 - bit.
4. If the "Cipher Strength" does not display 128 - bit, click on "Update Information" link and download 128 - bit encryption pack as per your requirement.

If your browser is Microsoft Internet Explorer and is less than version 4.0:

Download the current software version of Microsoft Internet Explorer.

If your browser is Netscape:

1. Select "Help" from the browser menu.
2. Click " About Navigator" or "About Communicator" or "About Netscape" from the help menu.
3. On clicking "About Navigator" or "About Communicator" or "About Netscape" , browser information will be displayed in this page.
4. As you scroll down this page it should contain the following text:

This version supports high-grade (128-bit) security with RSA Public Key Cryptography, DSA, MD2, MD5,

		 RC2-CBC, RC4, DES-CBC, DES-EDE3-CBC.

5. If your browser does not contain the above text and if the Version is lower than 7.2, you need to upgrade your browser.

How to print your background imaged such as Trout & Duck Stamps?

printing instructions:

1. If you print the page in landscape mode, image and text on the bottom side of the page will be cut off. To print the entire content of License Printing page, choose portrait mode from your printer menu. To do this, you will either need to change the 'Page setup…' or adjust the 'Properties' for your printer within the 'Print….' dialog box.
If you encounter trouble, consult the documentation or help within your browser.

2.To print background colors and images, you may need to adjust your browser preferences. Unfortunately, there is no
simple technique for setting this preference across all combinations of browsers, platforms, and print drivers. The following
suggestions may be helpful to you, or consult your browser or print driver documentation if you cannot determine how to
print background colors.

3: Internet Explorer 5: From the ‘Tools’ menu on your browser, select ‘Internet Options’. Click on the ‘Advanced’ tab, then scroll to the heading titled ‘printing’. Click on the box that reads ‘Print background colors and images’.

4: Internet Explorer 4: From the ‘View’ menu on your browser, select ‘Internet Options’. Click on the ‘Advanced’ tab, then scroll to the heading titled ‘printing’. Click on the box that reads ‘Print background colors and images’.

5: Netscape: Netscape on the PC should print backgrounds by default; on the Macintosh, this may be set in the ‘page Setup…’ dialog box. Consult your browser or print driver documentation if you cannot determine how to print
background colors.
